Avenue "Q-kebab"

After days of eating sweet Christmas ham and custards, my friends and I were craving for something savory to eat. We drove where light traffic took us and found ourselves in Katipunan. In the corner of Esteban Abada and Rosa Alvero Streets, Q-kebab beckoned us with its clean blue and white interiors. The friendly team behind the counter recommended their best selling Beef Basmati Bowl. We also tried  the Greek Salad, Chicken Shwarma, Falafel Pita Pan and Gozlemi. My friends  Dinny , Dynah  and I wiped out everything while talking about our New Year's resolutions, and we added Q-kebab in our "yummy healthy food list". Homecoming Queen

Biboy Arboleda and I have been friends for more than a decade now, often I would hear his stories about his mother, Mamang Cely who lives in New York. The groovy kind of Mom, Mamang is the type who goes out to smoke and exchange banter with her children's friends. This year, she decided to come home for Christmas and stay for good. It was happy news for all of us. There is nothing like a mother's warm embrace, no matter what age you are. This Christmas, Biboy is truly home. We call it Xanadu, Deo Endrinal's beautiful home. Deo Endrinal hosted the welcome dinner for Mamang Cely. Kris Aquino and Mamang Cely Coco Martin and Mamang Cely Meeting Mamang Cely for the first time. Diet Another Day

"'Tis the season to be jolly" and my tummy is jolly. There are simply so many good places to eat in the Metro, and one of my favorites, Lugang Cafe has opened in nearby The Block . Always, I have their Xiao Long Bao, so good I eat them like chocolates, slowly savoring every bite. I also enjoy the Hainan boneless chicken very much, and quite often, I choose the fresh mango cubes on shaved ice for dessert. I keep postponing my diet plans, I promised myself I'll start in the New Year. In the meantime, my gartered Cotton On  chinos are allowing me to eat a little more and still stay in style. Happy holidays! Peking ducks! You can watch how Xiao Long Bao is made inside the glass enclosed kitchen. The best Xiao Long Bao in the Metro! Siomai. Brewed iced tea. Hainan boneless chicken, always a favorite. Pineapple fried rice Dessert! Fresh mango cubes on shaved ice. With young restaurateurs Dom Hernandez and Katrina Chu

Life Is Like A Good Meal

I love road trips, it's a good time to catch up with friends and clear the mind of worries. As you look at the endless highway and the horizon, it makes you think of life, where it took you and where it will take you. The day after Trent's proposal to Jenny, we head back to the city. I rode with Pat following the lead of Enrique's van. Pat and I have been friends for more than a decade now, twice or thrice a year, we try a new adventure or restaurant and update each other with what's happening in our busy lives. Today, we find ourselves at C, the famous Italian Restaurant in Clark, Pampanga. I've eaten there twice during the campaign of 2010 and I wanted Pat and Enrique to try their panizza. We had an artichoke appetizer, two flavors of panizza and a pasta dish. It was a good meal, we finished everything without feeling too stuffed. The two weren't disappointed, it was worth the detour. Life is like a good meal, we savor every bite and every conversation th
