Part 7 Of Our Negros Occidental Tour
Sunday morning, after a hearty breakfast of danggit, longganisa and scrambled eggs, we head south of Bacolod to the town of Pontevedra. We wanted to hit the road early and hear Mass at the church of St. Michael the Archangel. Done in Spanish mission style, the church reminded me of Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park. The altar retablos are done in deep brown and gold. On the left retablo stands the statue of St. Michael the Archangel, wings spread out.
The pews are wide and spaced comfortably. My friends and I found separate spots, and we each took our time to reflect and say our personal prayers. It was a "feel good" Sunday.
