I look forward to Sundays, that day of the week when the metro seems half asleep and traffic is light. Sundays I get to Netflix all day or be at my most casual self and bond with family and friends, discovering new eating places. One happy discovery I made was The Study , located right across Ateneo , on the second floor of Regis Center . It's an eating and study place in one, serving affordable meals for students and foodies like me who are in constant search of the best pork dishes. Their Lechong Kawali is a must try, served with Sinigang Rice , a perfect match I must say. Here's to Sundays and Lechon! As a fashion designer, I'm often asked on how to care for clothes. Every now and then, I come across new discoveries; mild soaps, detergents, bleaches, fabric softeners, and fabric sprays. One day, I got a call from a friend, inviting me to join a forum on fabric care and a wash test with Ariel's new Power Gel. I was excited about the new product because I heard it was much better than powder detergent. We like to keep our white shirts white, and our black shirts really black. Black has been my uniform for obvious reasons, and I like to keep them looking new for a long time. Name it, they have it. The fanciest chandeliers, the most exotic food, fresh fruits,  haw  flakes, herbal medicines, fine jewellery, and lucky charms, you can all find them in Binondo, Manila's Chinatown. In the heart of Binondo is Ongpin Street, stretching from the Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz to Carriedo Street in Quiapo, where they have some of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. I occasionally go when I'm craving for Chinese food but this time, I went because I wanted to see the Chinese doctor recommended by  Lulu Tan-Gan . The doctor would hold your pulse and from there he'll identify your illnesses. Last night, at the charming Peninsula Manila, lovers and patrons of culture gathered for the launching of Fashionable Filipinas , a book about the evolution of the Philippine terno . Published by Suyen Corporation Inc.  and Slim's Legacy Project Inc. , the book is beautifully essayed by Gino Gonzales and Mark Lewis Higgins and features stunning photographs from 1860 to 1960. Events like this ignite patriotism, and nurtures love for heritage. An army of ladies wore their hearts on their terno sleeves. The book is available at Bench stores nationwide in hard cover and paperback. Reminiscent of Manila in the '50s, The Peninsula Manila's Rigodon Ballroom festooned with capiz lamps and tropical trees. In the past, the Fashion & Design Council of the Philippines , of   which I am a member, has been renting an office space that it would only use for quarterly meetings and keeping files. For general membership meetings, we usually book a room in a restaurant where eating takes top priority. We've long given up our office space, saving rent money for our worthy projects instead.
