SoFA Opens Its New Campus

I have very fond memories of going to school. I spent most of my free time in the school library reading history and English poems. I like the smell of books, paper and newly sharpened pencils. Yes, you can call me a nerd, I suppose. Sometimes, I imagine going back in time, just like in the movies, so I can go back to school again. Recently, SoFA Design Institute opened its new campus. Seeing their facilities and neat classrooms made me want to ride the time machine and be a student once again. 'Zipper' cutting ceremony. The Night Lady Gaga Wept

How lucky can one get? Monday night, I was one of those lucky ones invited by Bench to watch Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball in their private box at the Mall of Asia's Arena. Rain clouds threatened as thousands of Gaga fans queued to get in to the stadium. This was to be the very first event at this venue. Not much of a Gaga fan, I was excited watching all those who dressed to the nines like their idol as I was seeing the marvelous sets and costumes. I think like any artist, Lady Gaga wants to break barriers and delight us with shock. Towards the end of the show, jet lagged and fatigued, she wept as she thanked the adoring crowd. Just like any of us, she simply wants to be loved. The spanking new Arena at the Mall of Asia grounds. The Bench Suite at the Arena. The Bench private box. With fellow designer Michael Cinco. Happy Mother's Day

Again, I went to visit the Betania Retreat House, this time to dress up the image of The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Sister Jo previously gave me a picture of our Lady, to give me an idea of her dress style, and I did a little research on the internet as well. She wears a simple white dress with a blue cape and white veil. For her dress and cape, I used silk tafetta and for her veil, silk chiffon. I placed a small button hole on the bodice where the 'heart' will go through, velcro closures at the back. The good Sisters and I were really happy with how the dress turned out and we excitedly had our photo-op with Mama Mary. Happy Mother's Day! The Immaculate Heart Of Mary With S. Nenette, S. Jo and S.
